What is the difference between broken (leaf cut) and ground (powder)?

The only difference is that Artemisia annua or Moringa broken are the dried leaves of the plant, while Artemisia or Moringa ground are the same dried leaves that are pulverized using a grinder. There are no differences in the ingredients/components.

Where and how can you buy Artemisia annua plants?

Artemisia annnua anamed plants, for non-commercial purposes only, are sold and shipped in April/May by only one manufacturer and can be ordered via their homepage or by email.

Where are the products grown?

Our Artemisia annua is grown exclusively in Germany, mostly in Baden-Württemberg.

Moringa Oleifera Grows in tropical and subtropical climates. Our Moringa comes from anamed fields in Tanzania.
The Moringa is packaged and ground in Germany.

Euphorbia hirta is also a tropical plant. We obtain our Euphorbia hirta through wild collection by our employees in the bushland of Tanzania and Congo. Euphorbia hirta is packaged in Germany.

Eucalyptus maidenii Grows in tropical and subtropical climates. The leaves are picked by our project partner in the highlands of Malawi and packaged in Germany.

Which parts of the plants are packaged and sold?

We only carefully strip the leaves of the plants by hand and then dry them.
There are no stems or flowers in our products!

Preparation of lemongrass tea

For one cup, add about 1 teaspoon of lemongrass tea to a pot with 250 ml of water, bring to a boil, remove from the heat, and let it steep for at least 15 minutes. Then strain and enjoy. Or boil 1 liter of water with 1 tablespoon of lemongrass tea, etc., and drink it throughout the day to do yourself some good.

How can I preserve Artemisia annua?

Our leaf-cut products (formerly "broken") are extremely dried, which is the only reason they can be frozen. To do this, wrap the bags in a layer of aluminum foil (to preserve the essential oils) and another plastic bag, then freeze. Thaw unopened before consumption to prevent condensation from entering. The products we currently supply will then have a shelf life of at least five years at minus 18 degrees Celsius.

Why is there little information on how to use the products?

If you have any further questions, you can always expect competence, honesty, and reliability from us. However, we ask for your understanding that we are unfortunately not permitted to provide further information on some of our natural products.

Our Artemisa annua anamed (A-3) is explicitly declared as a plant-based raw material and is placed on the market. This complies with current legal regulations.

What's the deal with the packaging?

At teemana, we care about nature, which is why we follow the zero-waste principle. All our packaging is fully recyclable or incinerable without residue, producing no toxic emissions.

Our PE bags are reusable up to 20 times and can be incinerated 100% residue-free into carbon dioxide and water. Proper handling is crucial: After use, we ask you to recycle the packaging for ecological recycling.
Reuse and recycle properly.

Selected packaging sizes come in recyclable kraft paper stand-up pouches, free of aluminum and PVC. Here, too, multiple use or upcycling is recommended before recycling the packaging.

TOP CONCENTRATION THANKS TO HAND SELECTION

Regional hand harvesting in Germany

In conventional harvesting, tractors are used, which results in about 80% of the final product consisting of empty stalks.

We, on the other hand, rely on careful hand harvesting.

The plants are processed particularly gently in order to preserve the valuable ingredients as best as possible.

Your questions - our answers

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by email or phone . We will be happy to assist you personally.

Artemisia annua, the annual mugwort, is an extremely important plant with a very wide range of uses and a lot of valuable ingredients, which are mainly hidden in the leaves.

It has been held in high esteem for over 2,000 years , particularly in Asia, where it was used for various purposes even before the birth of Christ.

In 2015, the Chinese researcher Tu Youyou was even awarded the Nobel Prize for the rediscovery of the ingredient artemisinin, which was extracted and isolated from Artemisia annua .

Yes, "annual mugwort" and "Artemisia annua" refer to the same plant. Artemisia annua is the scientific name for the plant often referred to as sweet wormwood in German, and qinghao in Chinese.

In total, annual mugwort contains over 600 different valuable compounds . The most important of these is artemisinin .

Especially in recent years, artemisinin has increasingly become the focus of scientific attention through leading institutions such as the Max Planck Institute .

From 1996 onwards, we worked with scientists from different countries to offer a uniform, reliable Artemisia annua product .

This is how our Artemisia annua anamed (called "A-3") was created, a special variety of annual mugwort that is free from any genetic manipulation and is not a hybrid form.

Its major advantage: It contains about 20 times more artemisinin than most wild forms of the Artemisia annua plant (which is 1.4% instead of the usual 0.05-0.4%) . Furthermore, it has no flowers at the time of harvest in late autumn, making it a very allergy-friendly subspecies .

This " masterpiece of the green treasure chest" is available exclusively from us.

Our Artemisa annua anamed (A-3) is expressly marketed as a plant raw material . This complies with current legal regulations.

Our A-3 is harvested and bottled exclusively by certified producers and according to the highest quality standards in Germany.

Tractors are usually used for harvesting in Europe, resulting in a significant amount of "weeds" in the finished product. Our leaves are carefully and meticulously stripped by hand by our growers and then processed with care to preserve the many valuable ingredients and thus offer you a product of the highest possible quality and purity .

In contrast to the usual Herba quality, which consists of mechanically chopped plant parts and usually contains 80% empty stems, our product is also much more concentrated .

Ensuring Artemisia annua products meet high quality standards requires a great deal of effort.

It is therefore hardly surprising that the price of high-quality products is adjusted accordingly and that comparatively cheap products cannot possibly meet the same quality standards.

For example, a field worker in Germany earns about 100 times as much as a picker in Northeast India. For the price we pay our German farmers for 1 kilo of A-3 production, we would get 150 kilos of (brown) A-2 (wild) produce from Asia.

If you extrapolate these facts, the higher-quality offer is definitely worth it:

  • Price per 1 mg of artemisinin for wild type (A-2) with stems:
    180 cents
  • Price per 1 mg of artemisinin in Artemisia annua anamed (A-3) from pure leaves: 3 cents

Annual mugwort (Artemisia annua) and common mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) are two remarkable plants in the daisy family.

The leaves of annual mugwort are finely pinnate, giving them a delicate, graceful appearance . Their color is deep green . The leaves of common mugwort are broader and larger .

The most important difference is that, unlike common mugwort, annual mugwort (Artemisia annua) contains the "revolutionary ingredient" artemisinin .

Artemisia annua leaf powder is finer than the cut leaf and is preferred by most customers. Both are suitable for different purposes. Otherwise, there are no other differences between the two varieties.
